Collaborating for Effective Change
The brand’s continuing commitment to sustainability took another major step this year with the joining of the Living Future Institute/Living Building Challenge™ programme. Working hard to effect change within their supply chain, under the programme Streamline is collaborating with their manufacturers to identify and restrain “worst in class” materials, chemicals, and elements known to pose risks to human health and the greater ecosystem that are often prevalent in building industry products.
“For real, impactful change to happen you must look at the full picture. For us that meant looking at our supply chain from top to bottom, identifying opportunities with our suppliers to remove problematic raw materials where possible,” Mark Orton, General Manager at Streamline Products said.
“At the same time, we also understood the part we have to play at a product’s end of life, which led to the launch in 2019 our End of Life take back programme where foundry recycling can be taken back and managed” adds Orton.
“This combined with utilising recyclable packaging, locally acquired recycled pallets and our partnership with Greenfleet to offset our annual carbon footprint, are just some of the ways we’re putting into practice Salvador’s vision. Innovation is in our brand’s DNA.”
