Hydration Re-Imagined: Zip HydroTap

With liveability, functionality and wellness key design considerations for the developers, architects and designers we collaborate with, our team works hard to find the right products we know our clients will love. Enter the Zip HydroTap. More than just a tap, it is hydration re-imagined, and a key trending product you need to know about for 2020.

From humble Australian beginnings back in 1947, to installing the world’s first boiling water faucet in 1970, today 50 years on Zip Water continues to lead the hydration innovation charge, proving a superior understanding of the Australian consumer’s desire for functionality, yet not at the cost of style. Available in 10 distinct tap styles, with up to 12 finish options (depending style selected), the Zip HydroTap is certainly one for the design savvy.

With applications across the home, workplace or commercial setting, the Zip HydroTap hydration system seamlessly integrates into any space. Used as either a standalone tap with font, or added to hero an existing sink and tap setup, tap output configurations options include instant boiling, chilled, sparkling or ambient (room temperature) filtered water. With the All-In-One and All-In-One Celsius Arc models going one step further, offering hot and cold unfiltered water output capability for washing up. But there’s more to this product than meets the eye.

With Zip’s 0.2 micron filtration system, the filter removes dirt and contaminants as small as 1/5000th of a millimetre, so apart from filtering out rust, lead, chlorine and other volatile organic compounds, the filter also removes microplastics. Haven’t heard of microplastics before? Measuring between 0.05mm-5mm, microplastics refers to small pieces of plastic waste. A relatively new field of scientific study with work being done to understand the extent to which microplastics are present in our waterways and the effects of ingesting them, experts including senior scientists for the University of Newcastle and Macquarie University suggest drinking filtered water as a way to help remove microplastics. Something you’ll be please to know Zip’s 0.2 micron filtration system does, at a level 250 times smaller than a microplastic.

Safe to say the Zip HydroTap is more than just a statement piece of style and convenience, it offers strong health and safety benefits for users, all at a press of a button. Now that’s something to cheers to.
